Perfect for the days you spend at home watching the rain trickle down your window and listening to the distant sounds of thunder, a bowl of Dan Dan Noodles is rich with spice and heat to warm up both the insides of your body and the atmosphere in your home.
Dan Dan Mian, commonly known as Dan Dan Noodles by some, is a noodle dish originating from Chinese Sichuan cuisine. It is also one of the most famous Sichuan street foods that can be easily found in many Chinese restaurants in Singapore. It is created with chewy thin noodles swirled in a savoury and spicy sauce made with chili oil and pepper, then topped with pork, crunchy crushed peanuts, and green leafy vegetables.
Despite its complicated flavour profile, Dan Dan Noodles are surprisingly very easy to cook. If you’re craving a bowl of spicy and rich Dan Dan Noodles, we adapted a recipe from omnivorescookbook.com and produced an easy-to-follow recipe using the sauces and spinach noodles we import into Singapore.
